- Ledger, 1852-1858, of Spencer and Company records the accounts of individual customers. Each account lists transactions in chronological order and the amount owed and paid. Ledger does not list the names of items purchased, rather it uses the general term "merchandise." Ledger also records the company's controlling accounts such as profit and loss and interest account. Volume is in poor condition due to water and mold damage
