The Resource n.d
- Inclusive dates
- Subscription of citizens of Alexandria, D.C., for a statue of Henry Clay, undated
- Biographical or historical data
- This subscription may have been related to the Henry Clay statue completed by Joel Hart in 1859 and presented to the state by "the women of Virginia." It is located in the old hall of the Virginia House of Delegates. Clay died in 1852, however, the area comprising Alexandria had been returned to Virginia in 1847. It is probable that the locale noted should be Alexandria, Virginia, not District of Columbia.
