- Records, 1869-1906, of John N. Stirewalt (1844-1906) of Page, Shenandoah, and Madison Counties, Virginia, consisting of two volumes. The first section of each of these two volumes contains arithmetic problems, probably done by Stirewalt during his school days. The second half of each book contains Reverend Stirewalt's records of services peformed and monies received from the beginning of his public ministry on November 21, 1869, when he began preaching at various churches at the request of their pastors. Included are a list of services in which he participated in Page, Shenandoah, and Madison Counties, and during a thirteen month stay in Indiana, and lists for marriages, confirmations, and funerals

- Reverend John N. Stirewalt (1844-1907) married Emily A. Hershberger of Page County in 1870, and in 1871 he was ordained by the Evangelical Lutheran Tennessee Synod. He was the first resident Lutheran pastor in Page County where he organized several Lutheran congregations. He also served in Shenandoah and Madison Counties, and, for a brief period, in Indiana.
