- Peter Francisco (1760-1831) served in the Revolutionary War for three years. After the war he returned to Buckingham County where he opened a tavern at New Store. Biographical information can be found in Ralph A. Racer, Buckingham's Francisco, pp. 17-28; Charles Henry Hamilton, Peter Francisco, Soldier Extraordinary (Richmond, Va.: Whittet & Shepperson, 1976).
