- Inclusive dates
- Vestry book, 8 April 1729-13 December 1783. Accession 30120 is the manuscript copy of this volume. For a printed version see, THE VESTRY BOOK OF STRATTON MAJOR PARISH, KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, VIRGINIA, 1729-1783, transcribed, annotated, and indexed by Churchill G. Chamberlayne, 1931
- Biographical or historical data
- Stratton Major Parish was formed in 1655 in New Kent County and became part of King and Queen County when that county was formed from New Kent County in 1691. About 1674, Stratton Major Parish lost territory to St. Stephen's Parish, which also had its beginning in New Kent County, and to Drysdale Parish in 1723. Therefore by 1729 there were three parishes in King and Queen County.
