Thweatt (d. 1835) of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, consisting of a commission, 6 July 1805, as a lieutenant in the 39th Regiment, 15th Brigade, 1st Division of the Virginia militia, signed by Governor John Page (1744-1808); and a commission, 9 February 1816, as principal assessor for collection of direct taxes and internal duties for the 14th district of Virginia for the United States, signed by President James Madison (1751-1836)

- Richard N. Thweatt served in the Virginia militia and received a position as a tax assessor for the United States from President James Madison. He died in Chesterfield County, Virginia, 13 May 1835.
