- Plat of 453 acres in Fauquier County, Virginia, owned by Daniel Payne (1728-1796). Includes note that land was patented by John Blowers, April 9, 1727, King George County. The land was sold by Blowers to William Payne, who left it to his brother Richard, who left it to his brother George. George Payne sold the land to Daniel Payne in a deed dated 10 April 1779 and recorded 28 June 1779 in Fauquier County Court

- Daniel Payne was born on 15 September 1728 in King George County, Virginia, now Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was a merchant in Dumfries in Prince William County, Virginia, and a later a partner in the firm of Payne, Moore & Co. in Falmouth, Virginia, then in King George County. After the Revolution, Payne continued a mercantile business under his own name. He died in Falmouth on 12 April 1796, and he is buried at "Cedar Hill."
