- Biographical or historical data
- Thomas Tabb was born in Elizabeth City County, Virginia, to John Tabb and Martha Hand Tabb. He moved to Amelia County, Virginia, and became a prosperous merchant. Tabb was appointed sheriff of Amelia County in 1741. He represented Amelia County in the Virginia House of Burgesses from 1748 to 1749, 1752 to 1758, and from 1761 to 1769. He married first Elizabeth Mayo, and second Rebecca Booker, and fathered at least four children. Tabb died 23 November 1769 in Amelia County.
