- Evan T. Morgan (1 March 1753-18 March 1850) and Zackquill Morgan (8 September 1758-27 February 1834) were the sons of David Morgan (1721-1813) and Sarah Stevens Morgan (1726-1799), and the grandsons of Morgan Morgan (1688-1766) who was one of the earliest settlers in what is now Berkeley County, West Virginia. David Morgan relocated his family to Monongalia County in 1773. Evan Morgan served with the Virginia militia, fighting indians in western Virginia and Pennsylvania. He served with the Pennsylvania Regiment in the Continental Army, from 1775 to 1777. After an honorable discharge, he returned home and again served with the militia in fighting indian tribes on the frontier. Later in life, Evan briefly became a teacher. He married Camilla Hartley (1767-1838) and they had 10 children. Zackquill Morgan also served in the Virginia militia and with the army in fighting indians in western Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. He married Lina West (b. 1768) 18 September 1794, and they had 10 children.
