Also includes correspondence with Eton college, London, England, regarding his brothers' education

- Philip Ludwell Lee, eldest son of Thomas Lee and Hannah Ludwell, was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1727. He inherited Stratford Hall Plantation at the death of his father in 1750 and married Elizabeth Steptoe. Philip was a tobacco planter, member of the ruling Council of Virginia, and served in the county militia.
