- Papers, 1809-1855, of Dr. Robert Mackay Stribling (1793-1862) of Fauquier County, Virginia, including medical lecture notes, and four daybooks (1816-1855) and a ledger (1815-1819) relating to his medical practice. There is also a prescription book (1827) of his brother-in-law Dr. Henry M. Clarkson (1796-1862). The medical notes were taken while Dr. Stribling was a student at the University of Pennsylvania, and include lectures delivered by noted physicians Dr. Philip Syng Physick (1768-1837) and Dr. John Syng Dorsey (1783-1818)

- Dr. Robert Mackay Stribling was born on 14 February 1793. He was the son of Thomas Stribling and Elizabeth Snickers. Dr. Stribling was a physician in Fauquier County, Virginia, where he lived on his estate "Mountain View." He married Caroline Matilda Clarkson (1800-1887) on 29 January 1818. Dr. Stribling died on 24 August 1862, and is buried in the Leeds Episcopal Church cemetery in Markham, Virginia.
