Nicholson Negroes hired for 1781" and the corresponding prices paid (frame 46). Included are accounts with William Byrd (1728-1777) and with the Colony of Virginia. Beginning in 1776, several transactions involve supplies, such as wood, sold to the Commonwealth of Virginia for military use during the Revolutionary War.
