- John Marshall, Jr., was born 15 January 1798 in Richmond, Virginia, to John Marshall (1755-1835) and Mary Willis Ambler Marshall (1766-1831). He attended Harvard University and became a lawyer. Marshall represented Fauquier County, Virginia, in the House of Delegates from 1823 to 1826. He married Elizabeth Maria Alexander (1802-1847) 3 February 1820, and they had 6 children. Marshall died 25 November 1833 in Fauquier County.
