- Inclusive dates
- Two volumes marked "daybook" of Spencer and Company, a general store located at Charlotte Court House in Charlotte County
- One volume records transactions on a daily basis as they occurred from January-November 1860. Information found in each entry includes name of customer, items purchased, and amount owed or paid. Merchandise sold include bacon, cologne, scissors, shoes, nails, hoop skirts, and molasses
- The second volume records on a monthly basis the individual accounts of customers in 1860. Each account lists in chronological order merchandise purchased by the customer that month and the amount owed and paid. Beside each transaction entry is the page number where the transaction can be found in the first volume
