- Contains a letter from William G. Pendleton, Land Office, Richmond, regarding three hundred treasury warrants of 560 acres each in favor of George Rogers Clark. According to Pendleton, a note on these warrants indicated that they were issued to Col. Clark for the purpose of recruiting his battalions, in lieu of the bounty of 750 dollars. The letter also records the language on the voucher for the warrants certifying that Clark is entitled to 168,000 acres of waste & unappropriated lands within the Commonwealth according to the act for establishing a Land Office on 29 January 1780 by Thomas Everard, James Cocke, & Edward Archer
