Carter kept the journal while serving as the postmasters of Nuttsville Post Office, Lancaster County. William H. Carter held the position 1832-1834 and Addison L. Carter was his successor. Accounts by individual's home are kept of postage used. The post office was operated in Joseph Norris' store (see Accession 28859a)
